Magic Milk Innertube-Pro Hi-Fibre

I have to say that I have tried quite a few of these tyre sealants and most of the time it’s never worked well enough to keep you moving and not have to stop and repair the puncture or keep pumping more air into the tyre until you reach your destination and then you can finally fix the puncture.I did my usual stuck the bottle in my rucksack and completely forgot to insert some solution into the inner tube. On getting my bike out of my car as I drive halfway and cycle the rest, I discovered that I had a full flat tyre on the rear. I immediately pumped air and heard the hiss from the tyre and quickly located the puncture. Rather than spending ages changing out the inner tube I took out the magic milk. Removed the valve in my presta inner tube and plugged in the tube and started to squeeze solution into the inner tube.I then inserted the valve and started pumping. Initially the puncture started hissing but I spun the peddles and got the back wheel flying round. To my amazement the hissing stopped. I pumped up the tyre to 100 PSI and it held, no hissing at all.I then cycled all the way into work, 12 miles with the tyre going down ever so slightly but not enough to warrant me to stop and add more air.Very impressive performance from the sealant. It really has worked out and I’m going to leave alone to see how long the repair lasts before I have to replace the inner tube.The bottle of magic milk has levels written down the label seam so you can see how much to fill the inner tube with.It fitted over the valve perfectly and although I didn’t use the tool supplied with the bottle to remove the inner tube valve as I have a very good tool in my repair set, I’m sure I could have used the one supplied on the lid to remove it without issues.Overall very impressed and highly recommend.

I have to say I am not convinced that these tyre sealants are the answer to never getting a puncture, I used to swear by the green stuff especially as I never had a flat using it, that was until I did, just a big thorn but the sealant did not work, I pumped the tire up, turned the wheel so the sealant could smother the the leak, but half a mile down the road it was flat again, luckily I always carry a spare tube so was able to swap it and get going, but the sealant made a real mess where it had escaped into the tire and over the rim.This Magic Milk sealant has a high fibre content, so technically should do a better job than the runnier variety, but that I will not find out until I actually get a puncture which could be months away, another thing to add is the weight, it does weigh quite a few grams so the wheels will be heavier, maybe a problem for the weight conscious rider but I can cope with that.So in conclusion it's worth using because if it works the ride will not be interrupted by fixing a flat, more so if your out on a muddy cold winter ride, but always carry a spare tube and never trust in tyre sealants because they don't fix every puncture, I never mentioned the pinch flat I also manage to get, the rip in the tube was far to big for any sealant to fix, but I carry a spare tube so could still carry on my ride, but once again it was a very messy tube change.

The performance seems promising, and I feel like it will do the job when needed.And so, yes, I am pleased with the sealant and look forward to putting it to the test once the conditions improve and enjoy smooth rides without worrying too much about punctures. Seems like a solid choice to me

This stuff really is magic. Been using tubeles tyres on. my mountain bike for arount eight yeras now and would never go back to inner tubes. This Magic Milk is easy to add through the tyre valves and does a great job on all kinds of punctures. No more removing wheels to mess about patching tubes and having to replace the tyre and all the botrher that goes with it. Just keep topped up with this latex type liquid and ride. When punctures occur the liquid fills the hole and solidifies on contact with air, no further action is required other than a small amount of inflation if necessary.

Price £17 for 500ml.I'm a big fan of a similar product to this called Slime and so I can draw comparisons between the two. I think some of my existing tires are more slime than tire at this point and these type of automatic sealants are the best thing that ever happened to cycling.I mean you get a puncture on a rear wheel and it can be a total nightmare getting the wheel off to change the inner tube and patching it is also pretty tricky while its still attached. This is even more true of e-bike with all the electrics and motor to worry about as well. I would prefer never to have to do that.This stuff seals punctures automatically and I've even had them happen while on the road miles from home and then you hear the air escaping and then it stops and you pump the tire up again and you can get another 6 months before it happens again. I mean its just amazing compared to what would have happened without it.So this product compares well to slime. It fixed up a particularly nasty puncture on my BMX which slime didn't manage to. This is the hi-fibre version and so can fix slightly larger holes. It worked here.The bottle is nice in how the applicator tube folds back in to the bottle and the whole experience is good. It isn't the same lurid colour as slime which means that although you notice less if any is spilling out or getting stuck in the valve it also means you don't need to worry quite so much about getting it on your clothes etc.It flows a little easier than slime and does seem more liquid to me.The amount to use is a bit confusing - I had to visit their website to get the advised dose for each tire size and there is a measuring thing on the bottle but to be honest its pretty useless because depending which angle the bottle is at the amount shows wildly differently. I just guestimated it based on the total size of the bottle.They provide what should be a nice valve tool in the cap, on some ways its higher quality than the one provided with slime (metal vs plastic) but the handle part of it is too big to work with BMX spokes so I was completely unable to use it to remove the valve. Fortunately I had another valve tool nearby which I used for this task.Overall it seems like really good stuff but it is also significantly more expensive than slime.
