Magic Milk Quad & ATV

There are lots of tyre sealant products on the market and over the years we have tried some of the more well known brands that are marketed for either motorcycles or quads fitted with tubeless wheels. Some have performed well and have been a good investment, others less so and were never purchased again.What we came to realise over the years was that the strand/fibre content in the sealant plays a really big part in how quickly, and effectively, the punture hole is bridged and the sealant gel is supported to enable a fast and effective seal to take place.  We found that the poorer performing sealants usually had a low strand/fibre content and a lot of the gel escaped before enough strands to support the gel had filled the puncture hole.It was apparent whilst installing this Magic Milk quad and ATV tyre sealant that it had a very good strand/fibre content, it's hard to give a percentage but lets just say it appeared to match the more expensive "branded" sealant that we had recently used.  Obviously the proof of the pudding is in the eating and until we experience another puncture then we won't know for sure how well this product really performs, what I can say for definite is that the high strand content in the Magic Milk is a really good sign and from previous experience, this makes for a very effective sealant.Most modern wheels are tubeless and the tyre bead when retained into the wheels bead well will not move to the wheel centre when a puncture is experienced, it effectively stays in the bead well and continues to keep a good seal with any air only escaping through the puncture. Tubed type wheels are less suited to sealants as there is no wheel bead well to retain the tyre bead and the punctured tyre often travels to the centre of the wheel causing a very fast deflation, add to this that most inner tubes these days are made from synthetic Butyl rubber that tends to tear when pierced and you've got a situation where sealants are going to do little to help. On a tubed type wheel the sealant may give you a few seconds more reaction time but from experience it's nowhere near effective as it is on a tubeless wheel. Just saying!As it stands the Magic Milk sealant looks every bit as good as some of its more expensive competitors! These days, price really does play a big part in purchase decision making and that's where this product scores extra points, it's a visibly good quality product at a competitive price and it gets the thumbs up and five stars from us 👍

I received this item for free through Vine and this review reflects my experience. I used this sealant in my e bike inner tubes and it was very easy to apply thanks to the clever cap design which lets you squeeze the product straight into the valve without any mess. Although it is marketed for ATVs and similar vehicles, that gives a lot of confidence because products made for heavier tyres usually offer stronger protection. It is a latex based sealant which means it should not form clumps inside the tube and it spreads evenly when the wheel is rotated. It flows well and coats the inside quickly and it has not clogged the valve or caused any issues. A small tip is to use slightly less than the recommended amount because e bike tubes are much smaller than ATV tyres. I have not had a puncture yet to see it in action but it sits well inside the tube and seems reliable.

I have used various other brands of tyre sealant over the past 6 or seven years in my e-bike tyres and this Magic Milk works a treat. The price is a great attraction here though as you get a full litre for not a lot of money. Just inject the correct quantity into the tyre valve and replace the valve core, reinflate and off you go. Punctures seal automatically on contact with air so no need to change wheel or repair punctures. This product is solely for use in tubeless tyres!

This works exactly as I hoped it would, and it’s a good size/weight bottle to fit in the kit bag. The nozzle is brilliant. Pretty much just attach it and squeeze it in, it makes it as quick as a pit stop. The bottle is strong so it can withstand some throwing around/bashing about, and the synthetic rubber inside works quickly. This one is noticeably thicker and more robust than the MX tyres version, so there is a difference for the quad tyres. It more than does the job.

The bottle has a good cap that makes pouring it into the valve stem easy. I ride over a lot of sharp rocks, and I often get small punctures. This sealant quickly sealed a hole I got while out on the trail, and the tire held air fine for the rest of the day. It handles the rough terrain well and did not dry out inside the tires after a few weeks of use. I like that the formula does not contain ammonia, so I do not worry about my rims. This sealant gives me peace of mind when I ride far from home.

I got this tyre sealant for my quad because I ride over rough ground quite often and I was getting fed up with small punctures cutting days short. The idea of something that could seal a fairly decent sized puncture and be used with a CO2 cartridge appealed to me as I wanted a simple way to keep going without needing a full repair kit on hand.The sealant itself feels thick and reassuring when you pour it into the tyre. Once it is inside and you spin the wheel a few times it spreads quickly and seems to coat the inside evenly. I tested it on a tyre that had a slow leak and it stopped the problem almost immediately which was impressive. After a short ride the pressure stayed steady and the tyre held firm which gave me confidence in the product.The special cap is a clever idea because it makes attaching the bottle to the valve more straightforward. It also reduces the mess that usually comes with this kind of job. The instructions are clear and I found it easy to follow them without second guessing anything. The bottle size is generous which means you get enough for larger tyres or several smaller ones.The only drawback is that the application still needs a steady hand. The sealant flows quite quickly and if you are not careful it can spill a little which is frustrating to clean up. I also noticed that the seal takes a moment to settle if the puncture is on the larger side, so you need to give the wheel a proper rotation before setting off. It works, but it is not completely instant in every situation.Overall this sealant offers a dependable way to deal with punctures and reduce the chances of being stranded. It is effective once it is inside the tyre and the cap design makes the whole process more manageable. It may take a bit of care during application but the results are solid and it brings welcome peace of mind on rough terrain.

This is the right stuff to put in your tyres to prevent you from being stuck far away from your base with a simple puncture and not have to start stripping off a wheel to repair, from personal experience I got a piece of glass went through my tyre and this sealed it up within a few turns of the wheel, it had actually stopped leaking before I got the bike stopped and I only had to re inflate the tyre to continue. I should have but didn’t repair the tyre when I got back and used the bike for another 3 outings before stripping off the tyre and tube to repair properly, I measured the cut in the tyre at 9mm and same in the tube so it definitely works and I will definitely not be going out without it, ever. I can definitely recommend this sealant and as far as I’m concerned it’s worth every penny and best of all peace of mind when miles away from base👍👍👍😁😁😁
